So, a year ago I thought this blog was dead and gone. The Race was done, a pursuit of leadership opportunities had been given a no, there wasn’t really anything left, but through a bunch of circumstances that can only be God this blog has been revived because I was asked to Squad Lead Gap Year H Squad for 8.5 months!!! (the trip is 9 months, but I got asked to help lead a day before they left) I am beyond blessed and excited to work with these 43 young adults and am so excited and expectantly for what God has in store for them.
I have now been in Costa Rica for nearly 2 weeks and am on a bus to Nicaragua with them. It certainly was not the easiest transition, going from living a normal-ish life at home to back overseas and needing to quickly shift focus back to heavy mentorship and discipleship in the span of 2 weeks, but God has provided, He’s been faithful, He’s said “go” and I stepped out in confidence and boldness and said “yes”! So stay tuned for 8 more months of adventures, God-stories, and life overseas.
More to come later on what exactly it means to be a squad leader and what it “typically” looks like.
Peace and joy.
Nic
