Okay, so there is nothing fun about fundraising, at least not for me.  It doesn’t matter what it is, from candy bars to cookies, car washes to spaghetti dinners, asking people for money is often just plain awkward, no matter what it is for: athletic teams, mission trips, school, or a loved one with an illness, for me it doesn’t matter, fundraising is awkward, hectic, and I wish it would just raise itself.

That being said, I have a lot of fundraising to do for the World Race.  And over the past few years as I have had many friends go on mission trips I have found I too have the resources to support others in their Kingdom work, and I have supported multiple friends.  And you know what I have realized?  The friends I support are the friends who’s trips I care most about.  The phrase, “put your money where your mouth is”, is completely true.  Or in Christ’s words, “for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”  These things are true.  We care more about the things we are invested in.  Sometimes that investment is not money; sometimes it is pray, it is spending time before and after, helping a person prepare and debrief from a trip, but for many people, you don’t have the time or aren’t even in the same time zone to do those things with people you care about.  That is where the money comes in.  While I hate saying, “I need money, please donate”, it is true and you will be blessed by your donation.  You will care more about the journey I am going on and the work that Christ will be doing in and through me over the next year.  So, however you choose to invest: time, prayer, money, etc. I pray that you may invest in this adventure of mine, because it is not just my adventure, it is the adventure of many others going with me, the adventure of the church, the adventure of Christ, and it can be your adventure if you choose to journey along with me.
