The Dominican Republic is my next stop.  I take off in 6 days.  No it is not some big move, as I will only be gone for 10 days but it is an attempt to live a good story.  After my time in Haiti I was ready to be back in the states and just rest for awhile.  As romantic as living abroad sounds, missionary life is anything but glamorous.  Hot weather, mosquitoes, tropical diseases, mystery foods, and unpredictable circumstances make for an uncomfortable trip.

But as you have read in my last blog being uncomfortable is something to be sought after.  That is why I will be leading an AIM mission trip full of wide eyed teenagers.  I have never led a team that is this young and look forward to the challenge.  I will be leading 2 youth groups from Pennsylvania into an experience where they get to practice what they have been taught.

AIM trips are really about making disciples.  We use the trip as a platform to learn and grow how to be Christ.  We put participants in challenging circumstances where they have to really hear from the Lord and apply their faith.

We will be partnering with one of AIM’s long-term missionaries, Miguel.  Where we will be helping Miguel in his on going effort to bring the gospel to unreached communities, through VBS, prayer walks, sports ministries, and evangelism.

I am writing all this so you have a context to pray.  I need your prayers.  Leadership is always challenging and mission trips seem to carry significant spiritual weight.  Please pray for me to have wisdom to guide our group into what God is doing and to also pray for the teenagers to have great boldness, faith, peace, and love for those we ministry to.
