Hey guys! I’ve recently started working a lot more at Town and Country. As a result, I’ve neglected my blog a little bit. A couple of weeks ago I wanted to show you my tent and my first time setting it up but I’ve been having problems editing the video I made (if anyone one knows a good video editor, let me know). I’ll hopefully have that up on the blog soon.

Working more often at Town and Country has not only made me a lot busier, but it brought an unexpected surprise. In the past week I’ve had a guy give me his number and I’ve had a guy ask for my number. It’s been flattering and weird. I’m not usually the girl who gets asked out by guys, usually I’m watching as other girls get asked. Which, to be honest, is perfectly fine with me. While the attention is nice, I’m just not at a point in my life where I am ready to date. Not only does my upcoming 11 month mission trip make the prospects of a relationship lasting pretty slim, but I personally don’t desire one all that strongly. Sure, there’s a part of me that thinks that it would be really nice, but I also realize that I’m perfectly fine on my own. It’s funny to me that a lot of older customers at work tell me that I’m pretty and then they tell me that I must have a boyfriend already. I know they mean well and that they mean it as a compliment, but I really don’t have to have a boyfriend. It’s actually pretty nice without one. Instead of putting time and energy into a relationship, I can put my time and energy into other places, like God, my trip, or building stronger relationships with my family and friends.

In the spirit of this post, I thought I would give a funny story about how a guy asked me out.

Last year I had a Physics of Weather class. It was a fun class that filled some kind of requirement for my liberal arts degree. In class, I sat next to a guy. He was nice and fun to talk to about random things, the kind of things that you would usually talk about with someone that you didn’t really know. Somewhere in all of these random conversations, he started to like me. I sensed that he might, so I tried to keep our conversations shallow and inconsequential.

Unfortunately, that didn’t really work.

One day, we were sitting in class listening to the professor’s lecture and taking notes. Suddenly, I hear the guy next to me fart. I’m pretty sure he was mortified because he sat there like he wanted to pretend it wasn’t him and wouldn’t look at me. I, who found the whole situation hilarious, started laughing. My laughter cut through his embarrassment and he also started to laugh.

After class, I was gathering up my books when the guy stopped me and asked me if I would like to go out with him sometime and maybe get some lunch.

I politely declined.

Well, that’s all for now! Thanks for reading!

And I totally recommend listening to this song.
