I missed my post last week, so I’m going to do two posts (one more fun and one more serious).
I went on vacation last week to Big Sky Resort in Montana. It was gorgeous! I loved the non-prairie landscape (seeing as I’m from the prairie, the scenery was a big and exciting change). Anyways, I thought I would share some pictures from the trip, just to share some of the beauty with you.
Airplane spotted in the skies of South Dakota.
A change of scenery in Wyoming.
First glimpse of mountains while crossing into Montana!
Dad spotted the deer just minutes after we arrived at our resort.
Beautiful bird flitting outside of the window.
A moose and her calf. In the distance we thought they were a horse and a dog running together. Boy were we wrong.
We took a walk around the resort and found this mountain looming in our backyard.
Awesome sunset at the resort.
New puddle boots, so I of course had to try them out in a nearby creek. They worked very well.
A beautiful Bison that we found while we toured Yellowstone National Park. I wanted to go up and pet him. I also like that this picture makes it look like he has flowers growing on his back.
Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park
The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone National Park
Waterfall at Yellowstone National Park. Right after I took this picture, it began to rain, then hail, and then snow. As if I wanted to see snow on vacation! Haha.
We found a bear and her cub while making our way out of Yellowstone. The photo is a bit grainy because of how much I had to zoom to get a picture.
Overflowing waterfall near Big Sky, Montana.
Overlooking the Gallatin River in Montana. I love how the clouds are drifting over the mountain on the left side of the picture.
A field of wind turbines in South Dakota.
All of the scenery and wildlife that I saw on the trip has made me 100x more exited for my 11 Countries in 11 Months mission trip. I can’t wait to see the amazing scenery and wildlife. But most importantly, I cannot wait to meet all the people. While in Montana I was able to meet family members that I either had not seen for a long time or that I was meeting for the first time. It was amazing to see everyone and it has made me excited about all the people I will be meeting during my October training camp and during my trip.

My family!
And, as usual, here’s a song to close out this post. Although a love song, it captures how cool it was to spend time with my family and how quickly it went (“the sun set too soon tonight”).
