This month I was blessed to look at the most beautiful view Ive ever seen, every single day. It showed me that theres still so much beauty for me to discover in this world. My time in Swaziland is just a little glimpse of the beauty in this world. [El Shaddai, Swaziland]

I’ve learned that in North America parental supervision is a luxury taken for granted. Nicolas is one of 84 children who is cared for at the orphanage called El Shaddai, which I worked with in Swaziland. With so many children its impossible for the Mamas to watch each child every minute of the day. Nicolas decided to take advantage of one of those few times and pick up an ax to cut up his avocado instead of asking one of us to do it. [El Shaddai, Swaziland]

Part of the World Race is being willing to help out wherever needed. Using the hands God gave us to help build His kingdom. Here, Candace and Heather are living that out and getting their hands dirty to clear up El Shaddai so that the kids can have room to play. The tools that were available might not be the right ones for the job, but their hearts definitely are. [El Shaddai, Swaziland]

On my team Im known to take random pictures of things only I find fascinating and beautiful. Ill spend so long trying to get the exact angel for a picture nobody but me will ever really appreciate. Heres one of them. The asymmetry of the pedals reminds me how completely distinct each of Gods creations is and of all the detail that He put into creating this world. To me, this flower is beautiful. [El Shaddai, Swaziland]

It’s a happy talent to know how to play – Ralph Waldo Emerson On the race Ive had the opportunity to visit many orphanages and spend time with countless children. What Ive learned is that children from all over the world, regardless of life circumstance, have this one thing in common When given the chance they love to play. Sizwe is no exception. Some local women were so touched by the work El Shaddai is doing and the number of lives that they are changing that they decided to make these handmade, beaded necklaces to sell. The profit from the sales goes directly to the orphanage. But the bright colours were what really caught my attention and reminded me of the vibrancy of the Swazi people. Meet Rachel. Five years ago her heart quickened as she read about The Race. Her spirit knew that it would one day be her reality but her mind thought it impossible. Here she is, on month 4 of her race without a clue to what God has is store for her, but knowing that Hes taking her further and deeper than she could have ever imagined. [El Shaddai, Swaziland]

Chief. His name says it all. His calm personality and gentle spirit is what really leaves you believing this boy is meant for greatness. [El Shaddai, Swaziland]

The brightness in her eyes is what first captivated me. But its her determination to do whatever she can to make sure she becomes educated and helps to change the lives of children who are come from a similar background that tugged at my heart. Its rare that you meet someone who wont allow lifes circumstances to define who they are. This girl is going to change Swaziland one day. [El Shaddai, Swaziland]

On the race things can get so hectic that you find yourself too busy to stop. But sometimes you just have to breathe, reflect on everything God’s doing in your life, and enjoy the journey. [El Shaddai, Swaziland]

This month I was partnered up with Ayanda. I got to play with him through the month and get to know his heart. He is intelligent, with a mind that helps him recall bible verses he learned long before meeting me. He is kind, with a heart that has him taking care of the younger children. He is sensitive, with a gentleness that had him asking if I could stay after the month ended so that we could keep being friends. Through the distance and months Ill remember him as the sweet boy who captured my heart and had me in tears as I left Swaziland. Please be praying for my dear, sweet boy. I still have a bit of fundraising ($1738 to be exact) to do so that I can stay on this race and finish my time in Asia with my squad. Please consider donating today!
