One of my dad’s brothers, Uncle Dan, thinks people say “awesome” way too much. I think he’s probably right—I ascribe awesome-ness to many things that are not quite deserving of the word.

There are certain experiences that are deserving. A few weeks ago in Honduras, my team had an awesome opportunity: to sing and share some life testimonies over the radio. We’re not talking the local radio; we’re talking a radio station that reaches hundreds of thousands of people. I thought there would be many awesome opportunities on this adventure, but this was not among the anticipated awesome-ness. It’s no wonder they tell us to leave expectations at the wayside on The World Race.
