Recently my home church Allentown Victory, went on a mission trip to our city. It was defiantly some of the most interesting, and incredible eleven days in my life! There was a group of about ten of us some were there all day everyday like myself and some were there on the evenings or the odd day. We stayed in a hotel the whole time econo lodge to be exact, we ate together every day but the best thing of all was going out and being Christs hands and feet everyday!
We fed over 250 people, gave clothes to the homeless, cleaned peoples yards, had free car washing, and babysitting events, put on a fun event in the park for the community, and prayed for countless others! God moved in a big big way not only in the lives of those who were on the receiving end of what we were doing, but in the lives of myself and my team members going out every single day in the 100 degree weather sharing the love of Christ.
There was times on this mission trip where I wanted to quit. I was fatigued in every way possible and just did not want to be there but I knew I had to and needed to be there for Jesus and for my community. I pressed on through and I was rewarded on so many different levels, one Scripture that really helped me which I will be holding onto whilst on this mission trip is Philippians 3:12 12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. BUT I PRESS ON!
Even though to be honest my fundraising isent going as fast as I would have liked, I know what Christ has for me on this race and I will press on! I know he wants me on this race in January and I know he will provide all my needs according to his riches. I will not quit and I will not back down, this is the biggest thing I took away from my Allentown mission trip and will be carrying it into my world race thank you for taking the time to read this blog I hope you have a great and blessed day all the best.
