When people think of a good life they often picture themselves married to a person way out of their league, having a high paying job, and living in a fancy apartment in Manhattan. Or maybe they picture themselves living in a log cabin in the mountains of Colorado. Or maybe a 2-story beach house in California. Or maybe they want to be a rolling stone, never in one place for too long. Those are all great things, but those lives are not the good life I want.
Just like everyone else, in my good life I’m married with kids. In my good life I’m a doctor, maybe cardiology or general surgery. But mostly in my good life I’m serving those whom the church has forgotten. I want to go where Christians won’t go, to do the work that Christ did. I want to heal people and see them raised to true life. That’s what I’m working towards.
Kanye West once asked, “Is the good life better than the life I live?” My answer is YES! But God gave us a vision of a good life for a reason, right?
