A few weeks back, a squad mate of mine shared this video of a few crazy Christian young guys going out to the un-reached people within Mongolia, to share the Gospel of Christ with them. I went into this video with the mindset of seeking the culture and people of Mongolia, but came out with a new flame in my heart for what it looks like to go out on God’s journey and be a “Jesus People.”

Mongolia from Frank Maldonado on Vimeo.

Throughout the video we see what it is like to be apart of someone else’s life & culture. We see the desires of these guy’s hearts to share Christ’s love with the people of Mongolia so much, that they are willing to live as they live. To be as they be.  To do as they do. We see too that very little things went according to plan, that God threw in some curve-balls! As I began to see this, I was reminded that our plans are not God’s plans, our ways are not God’s ways. We must continually be open to His plans, yet furthermore, seek out His plans over our own. We must continually seek Him and ask Him what He wants to do in the moment, not always decide to go with what we think is best.

If we are not constantly seeking God’s heart and listening for His voice we run the risk of missing opportunities where God wanted to use us for His Kingdom. And There guys knew that!

We must remember in our daily comings & goings; when things do not go our way, we need not complain or be quick to anger, but rather ask of God,

“What are you doing here in this moment?”     “What is it that you want us to see?”

How can we spread your truth right here, right now?”

This has been a difficult thing for me to do, to be attentive to God’s voice when plans fail. Because I like to get things done and tend to ask myself how I (me, myself, and no others) can get this done. But as launch date looms closer. God has reminded me, and humbled me more and more by showing me that I get through my day not by any power of my own. No, I am nothing, but it is solely by the grace and strength of God the Father that I am blessed to get to live out each day.  As my dependence grows on God, the more I am in tune with what His will is for me each and every day! And His mission becomes my mission.

Lastly, their is a point in the video where the group crests over a hill top out of the valley and came within shouting distance of a village. But as they set their eyes on the village they could see that all the people were standing outside of their living areas, waiting in anticipation for their arrival. The guys thought that was strange until they had heard that the people were eagerly awaiting them because they had heard that the “Jesus People” where coming! And they so desperately wanted to hear about this Jesus who loved them so dearly!

This struck ALL the chords my heart because that is what I seek with my whole heart, my everything. I so desperately want to be known as the “Jesus People.” I dream of being greeted with overjoyed faces and asked to tell who this Jesus is! It would truly be life made complete for me. Because then, in that moment, I could honestly say I have strived my best to walk as Jesus walked and now others see that in me! How cool would if God chooses to work through my group and I that way!

With that said, please take some time out of your day to watch this video and be immersed in experiencing what a life as a “Jesus People” is truly about. You won’t regret the time spent watching, rather your heart will be refined and inspired!

Enjoy 🙂
