These are just a few of the things that I am expecting!
"But Nate, these are so vague," you might say.
And I would say, "Yes. Yes they are." The reason for the vagueness is mainly because I have no freaking idea what to expect!! Okay, well I have a few things I'm expecting, but then what do I really know what to expect. And this is what this article is ALL about!!
1: What Am I Expecting?!
As my wife would probably say, it’s unfortunate, but we aren’t “expecting a baby” such as the title of the movie this is after. At least not a human baby.

I am expecting dreams, mine and Jess’s, to be conceived, implanted, birthed, imagined and come to pass!! That there will be some babies we give birth to because we are prego with one, a baby of impacting the nations with the gospel! Our baby is our dreams!!
I think we are expecting to give birth to some of those dreams like:
Playing and Dancing With Orphans
LOVING on the Homeless
Healing the Sick
Raising the Dead
Casting Out Devils
Leading People Into REAL, RAW, RELATIONSHIP with Daddy
Going To Africa
Playing Music In 11 Countries
These are just some of the things that I am expecting to happen!!
2: What To Expect?(Seriously)
Although I might have a slight idea of what to expect, I truly don't know. I have never been out of the country, except to Rocky Point, Mexico, but that doesn't really count in my opinion. Especially because it wasn't for "missions."
I don’t know how seeing a ton of orphans is going to affect me!! Whether I will break out in JOY because I will be there to LOVE on them, or cry because of the reality of that lifestyle maybe being the only life they’ve ever know.
I’m not sure how I will react if I meet a 13 year old girl who is prego from having sex against her will because she was sold into sex-slavery.
I don’t know what to expect if we come across a witch-doctor who is known for putting curses on people!! I would like to say I know how I will react! In confidence in Christ the hope of Glory in me, but I've never been in that situation before!
I think there is something to be said about mysteries and things we may not understand. Bill Johnson says this so proufoundly, "“You cannot hold God hostage (to your questions). He doesn’t owe you an answer. If you want the peace that passes understanding, you’re going to have to give up your right to understanding. It’s called trust.”
And honestly, the more we get to know Dad, the easier it becomes! Because why would my loving Dad ever do anything to cause harm to me or His children! SO….I can take a deep breath and know that it’s not death, disease, poverty that lies in His hands, but He is the source of LIFE and LIFE ABUNDANTLY!
3: What Do I Want To Get Out Of It?
Other than having a wicked-awesome time traveling the world, I hope to build strong relationships, connections around the world, learn more about my incredible and gorgeous wife and come home with open eyes! I’m expecting great, incredible, amazing, life-changing, ridiculously, box-breaking, religion-killing, sacred-cow tipping experiences that will never leave my current Western/American way of thinking the same!
I want to come-back and dome-rock Merica and impact our country with gospel!
