Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out my blog! I am really excited to begin my preparation for this journey! If you know me, most of the stuff I write in this section will be old news, but if not… here you go!

So, when you first introduce yourself to a group or a class, you are usually told to tell people an interesting fact about you. It’s funny because I always say one of the following:
1) I was born on the 4th of July
2) I play violin
3) I have 4 siblings

In a few years I will be able to have another interesting fact on my list: I traveled to 11 countries in 11 months to share the love of God.

I grew up in New York in a wonderful Christian home with my parents, one brother and three sisters. We moved to North Carolina in 1994 because of my dad’s job. I guess you can say I’m a true southerner now but I think I’m still a yankee at heart. I love North Carolina with the beautiful mountains and beach, but I miss the non-humid weather in New York. It’s in the 90’s today with humidity! I can barely breathe!
In high school I loved to sing and dance, I’ve never been a sporty person, I prefer performing! I can be athletic if I am forced to though ๐Ÿ™‚
I went to East Carolina University and graduated with a Bachelors in Elementary Education in 2006. I taught 2nd grade, 4th grade and I subbed for a year but have not found a permanent job yet. I worried about getting a job for a while, but when the opportunity came up for me to go on a trip like this, I understand why God had not planted me in a permanent position yet!
I currently live in Raleigh, NC and I love it here! I am surrounded by amazing people every day of my life who support me and bring me up. I love the Lord and strive to grow closer to Him every day. He has been my rock through all of the hard times in my life, and believe me, I’ve had a ton! I can not wait to see what He is going to do with my life because I’m giving it all up for HIM…. literally! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m currently in the process of getting rid of my stuff, whether it be people using it until I come back, or selling it! It’s bitter sweet! Well, thanks for checking out my profile, more to come!

Oh PS… my nickname is Ty. It’s a name that started a long time ago by my family when I was a kid and it stuck. I like it, and it’s easier to say so feel free to call me that if you want! ๐Ÿ™‚
