“God is bigger than the boogie man” – Junior Asparagus.
It’s true. He is. He is bigger than, well, anything. He is greater than anything. And there is absolutely nothing He can’t do. “Not possible” doesn’t exist in His vocabulary. That in itself is beyond human comprehension if you ask me. It’s unfathomable. Which just adds to the awe factor of Who our incredible Savior is.
So why is it, then, that I still tend to try and put Him in a box? Why do I disregard His power, provision, might and strength when I am up against what look like very difficult odds, or things just aren’t going the way I expect them to? “What is impossible with man is possible with God” Luke 18:27. Yeah, Jesus said this. The Lord. The Saving One. He Who Reigns. Everlasting Love. Endless Grace. Perfect Peace.
I want to live with the faith that Christ calls us to; knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is not a mountain the Lord can’t move; there is not a sickness the Lord can’t cure. Nothing, not even death itself, is unbeatable for Jesus. Whether it’s a giant, an ocean, unimaginable heartache, a future swarming with questions or a personal situation that feels unbearable, the Lord holds it all in His hands. Anything is possible for Him. I want to tie the “not” that I so often say and completely remove it from my thoughts. I want to live with absolute assurance in the Redeemer, Who never leaves or forsakes us. His Word is sure. Meaning our every situation is secure in Him. 🙂
