At training camp last October, my team and I had the task of choosing a name. The name we chose was “Illuminate” but, alas, another team on the squad chose it first. So then we decided on “Wellspring” because Jesus is the Living Water and by the Holy Spirit His power flows forth in us. As it says in John 4:14, “but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." So it really came as no surprise then that the Lord placed us with Wellspring Living for the four weeks we are in Atlanta. This organization is committed to first bringing women and girls’ physical restoration from forced prostitution, substance abuse and other abuses, and then soul restoration by loving on them with the Love of Christ and sharing His Truth with every heart.
I love seeing Christ at work through this organization. People are literally being rescued and renewed by Hope, and everyone I’ve met who works for Wellspring Living is passionately in love with the Lord and seeks nothing but His will to be done in every situation. I also love the amount of time the staff is seeped in prayer. They’ve prayed continuously for my team and our work with Wellspring Living. They pray every day for every aspect of their work as well as the surrounding community. They pray every day for the women and girls. They PRAY. And it is my prayer that Wellspring Living continues to change Georgia, and someday the world, for the Kingdom.
