I absolutely love drumming for the Lord. He has given me numerous opportunities to play at churchs, retreats and special events over the last 17 years and I am thankful. Worshipping Him through music fills my heart so much and I pray He is always glorified! Nine days ago He opened the door for myself and four other women to play our hearts out for Him in a bar on Bangla Road. That's right; a bar. A bar in the heart of one of the darkest places I have ever been. I wish I could describe what is was like playing "Your Love Never Fails" and "Hosanna" in a place where the enemy feels like he has control. It was AMAZING. There were about 25 people who were/are working for the organization who also came, so the singing was absolutely evident to anyone on the street. The worship rising was undeniable. I couldn't really see the number of people who passed by, but I was told people took pictures, asked about what was going on and wanted to see what all the ruckus was about. :-).
I love knowing that by the power of the Lord darkness had no choice but to flee because the Holy Spirit was, without a doubt, present. From the bar owners to the women being forced to sell themselves, I pray people knew they had an encounter with the Redeemer that night. And really, I pray anytime someone meets a Christ follower they feel His Love. This night is a night I'll never forget. This night was also a night I never even expected could happen. But once again, the Lord showed His might. Once again He showed His power. And once again, darkness ran… 🙂
