I don't know her name. I don't know where she is from and I don't know her story. But I passed her the other night and I'm not allowed to talk to her. If I did, I would be putting her at risk; I would be putting the organization at risk. We have been told there are women brought here from Europe. Those who bring them are so powerful and dangerous that to even approach them could lead to someone getting hurt. The women aren't hard to find on Bangla Road. They are forced to stand out on the street and sell their bodies for someone else's gain. I don't know their names. I'm not allowed to talk to them.
I wish I could say something to them. I wish I could pour out Jesus on them. And then He reminded me; I can. You can. Prayer is more powerful than any weapon the enemy has. We can't physically help these women right now, but our prayers can literally save their lives. In 1 Chronicles 5: 20 it says "They were helped in fighting them, and God handed the Hagrites and all their allies over to them, because they cried out to Him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in Him." We know the Lord has already won. As much as my heart breaks for every person caught in slavery of any kind, the Lord's heart breaks that much more. He calls on us as His followers to pray, pray, pray. James 5: 15 says "And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven." What an awesome testament to the power of prayer! We don't know everything the Lord does in the spirit realm, but we know He is always at work.
I don't know their names, but He does. I can't talk to them, but He can. And so I pray…
