There are hundreds of us going on this trafficking trip…Ok, maybe not physically, but I know in the spiritual sense we have hundreds of people praying for us. Hundreds of people financially supporting us. Hundreds of people lavishing us with emotional support, friendship and love. I am completely grateful for all the wonderful people the Lord has placed in my life and without them, I don’t know if I would have been able to make this trip. Yes, ultimately the Lord is all any of us need, but He purposely puts people in our lives for His Kingdom’s causes. I’ve learned I can’t write an adequate enough “thank you” card to express what is in my heart, and the blessings my supporters have poured out leave me awestruck. Just yesterday, two people who are missionaries and raise their own support, blessed me with $40. $40 goes a long way and they easily could have saved it for their ministry, or for Christmas gifts, or even Starbucks (that would have paid for a couple drinks anyway 🙂 ). But instead, their open hands are such a reflection of Who is in their hearts; the Magnificent Savior. Wow.
Beyond finances, prayer support is absolutely vital. We all know we’re going into places that for far too long have been held in bondage by the enemy. We will arrive boldly proclaiming Christ and shining the Light of Jesus; the only Light that CANNOT be extinguished. We are headed into a battle. And I firmly believe that as the Body of Christ we are all called to pray for each other. What a phenomenal gift to know we have hundreds of warriors crying out to our Redeemer on our behalf. James 5:16 says “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” There are hundreds of us going on this trip…I hope we have a big enough plane… 🙂
