“I’m a part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have Holy Spirit power. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I’m a disciple of His. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.
My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure. I’m finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don’t have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor in love.
My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my Guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I won’t give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ. I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me; and when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me-my banner will be clear.”
-found in the home of a martyred African missionary and pastor in Zimbabwe
I live to bring the Savior glory, to proclaim His Truth to the nations and to worship Him with all that I am, all that I will become and all that I have. π
A little bit about me: I love music and have played drums for over 20 years, including about 16 years on worship teams. I absolutely love having fun and have no shame with the fact that I have Goofy on the dashboard of my car and other Disney characters on my Crocs. Age is just a number. I smile a lot. π (see). Time with people is always much more important to me than, say, cleaning my apartment (my dust can attest to this). I’ve worked for a library district for almost nine years but have never felt it was my “calling.” I’m incredibly grateful for having a job but I’m also tremendously excited for this next stage of life. I still play Guitar Hero. On my PS2 no less. Old school. π I love people in general and believe that showing Christ’s love is just as important as talking about Christ’s love. One of my favorite quotes is “Preach the Gospel at all times and if necessary, use words” St. Francis of Assisi.
My heart belongs to Jesus. π
Part II
I just realized I should add a little more about me:
– I love dogs…especially beagles.
– I’ve lived in Colorado my entire life and am very blessed to have my parents and sister all live in the same city as I do.
– I can do a deserted island as long as I have my Bible, water and ice cream…except the ice cream would melt. Fast. Hmmm…. π
– I went to the University of Northern Colorado and majored in Journalism. I love writing, including lyrics for songs.
– I will be leaving my job at the end of 2010 to go on this amazing trip. I have no idea what I’ll be doing when I return home, but the Lord does, so it’s all good.
– I love having fun with friends, which includes going to movies, concerts, Rockies baseball games, whatever. To me it’s much more just being with people than what we’re doing.
– I’m bilingual if Starbucks-ese counts… π
– And I do LOVE my caffeine…
– I really don’t like spiders. I’m already praying we don’t come in contact with any that breach my “great googily moogily it’s huge!” limit… π
– I am clumsy. Not by choice. It just happens…
– I have been incredibly blessed to visit Uganda, Kenya and Austria these last two years and serve people there with the love of Christ.
