Tonight I had a heart to heart with Joe over some oatmeal and tea.
Our ministry site this month has left us pretty spoiled.
We have a living room AND a dining room with plenty of room for activities in-between.
From our sitting point in the dining room, I was able to see each one of my teammates.
We were all minding our business, and yet we were unified.
Carter was making up songs with Pat on the guitar.
Leslie was talking to America (our name for home)
while Beka worked hard on our team finances and bobbed her cute little head along with Carter's songs.
Paige was concentrating hard on her grad school applications and
Joe was sitting with me, deep in conversation.
It was almost as if all time halted.
I felt like I was watching the scene but removed from it.
And I was hit with an overwhelming
sense of love for each and every one of them.
Lately, I've found myself hit with this falsehood that I'm not able to successfully lead my team.
That they need someone who is more (insert ideal here) and less (insert negative ideal here.)
We are in the middle of month nine on the race.
We, as a team, are tired and looking forward to home.
Our bodies are longing for a routine that this month doesn't offer.
And we are just in need of something.
We are in need of love.
And tonight, God showed me – even if just for an instance – the love that I have for my team.
I might not be the best leader when it comes to x,y, and z
This year God has refined my ability to love and serve.
And now, He has given me the opportunity to walk out that lifestyle
with my new, quirky and fun-loving team.
I'm honored to have the privilege to be leading
three of the loveliest, witty, and God-fearing women
PLUS two of the strongest, kind hearted, and courageous Men of God
I have had the opportunity to come in acquaintance with.
On the side of my blog, I have updated my team links.
Please go to their blogs, read what God is doing in their lives,
and by all means – stalk them (I give you FULL permission!)
Please be praying for my new team.
That we walk in unity and refinement.
That we are open and honest with each other.
That we surround ourselves in grace.
But mostly, that we walk in the love of God and we have good ole' fashion fun!!! 🙂
Here's to two and a half more months of
walking in the awe of the Lord ,
to all of the memories that are yet to be made
and the "laugh til I pee my pants" moments that we'll be having together.
Introducing
… (drum roll please) …
Team "Wait for It."
<3tasha.
