Ok,, ok . . it's time to get down to the nitty gritty and discuss a topic I'm not very comfortable discussing . . .
Fundraising.
First and foremost I ask for your prayers. I ask for your prayers for the people we'll be helping and for my team. I ask that you pray for safety and understanding. I ask that you pray that the barriers of language and culture will be broken. And I ask that you pray for me. This is going to be one of the most challenging and possibly hardest things I've ever done. 🙂
In order to take this journey that the Lord has called me on I have to raise a total of $15,500 for the trip alone. That doesn't include traveler's insurance ($385), gear ($400), immunizations ($100), or travel to and from launch. Realistically speaking we are looking at $16,385 BEFORE travel to/from launch is calculated in. Now, I don't know what your stance is on this, but that's a LOT of money. God will provide and has been providing so I trust that the funds will come.
How can YOU support me in this endeavor?
There are a number of things you can donate that aren't related to money.
-gear
-gift cards to REI, Paragon, or Kelty
-airline miles.
You can also donate your talents.
I need crafty people, videographer people, people who are GREAT with slogans and event planning, and people that are good with fundraising IDEAS.. etc.
The number is HUGE. But, practically speaking, it's not that bad. I just need $1490 a month to cover the cost.
