To continue the last blog…

After that night’s excursion we got 9 phone calls between 1-3am of women curious about Breaking Chains. I was thrilled when I found out about it in the morning. So, even though I feel so inadequate I know that God is working and that prayers are truly the most important part of life. That being said, I am asking you for many prayers for protection against spiritual attacks. We are working with a ministry that is penetrating the darkness and the evil one is not happy with that so we are being attacked from many sides. Fortunately, our God is so much greater than any darts the enemy can shoot. We have realized the Lord’s protection so many times.

This program; Breaking Chains works with the women by teaching them the Bible, having in depth sessions of prayer for forgiveness, and teaching them ways to make a living. While we are here we will be working with the ministry to create an ESL program because the women will make $600 a month or more compared to sometimes only $30 a month if they can speak English. They want to provide them with the opportunity to go to an English school or university. They also provide them with opportunities using the micro loan system to begin small businesses to support themselves and their families.

I have heard horror stories of what is happening to the women and children here but I have also heard of the hope that is being provided by the Breaking Chains ministry. If you have never heard of Breaking Chains ministry I definitely recommend that you go online to their website: breakingchains.org. It is such a spirit filled ministry that is providing hope and relief to these women who are coming from a poverty-stricken country.

I would strongly encourage you all to donate generously to this organization. When I walked into the garden and house where the women gather I was filled with so much peace and I knew that Jesus was walking in this garden. Steven, the man who founded this organization, is so on fire for Christ you can see it in his actions and in his speech. His wife, Kenia is so sweet and such a woman seeking God in everything she does. Together they minister to the girls who come to their home four days out of the week. They love on the girls and pray for them. Steven calls them his daughters and treats them like princesses. There is one other lady here, Joan, who helps with the girls and a lot of the housework. This is such a blessed ministry and I honestly cannot think of a better one to support.

That is what is happening here in Nicaragua and it is only the first week! I can’t wait to tell you all more and be able to post pictures!! God is so good and he is doing awesome things!
