Only 21 days until I meet the rest of the K Squad!!!! I am so excited to go to training camp and experience this new challenge.
Training camp is shrouded in mystery. They tell you as little as possible to keep your expectations low. Even so, I've heard we have fish eye soup and there is not a lot of sleep involved. There are definitely nerves and fears but nothing that God has not gotten me through before. The below is a picture of a page of Platt's book, which is a reminder to me that through the challenge of training camp what I'm doing is obeying Jesus.
I am excited to inform you all that I have reached and surpassed my first financial deadline of $3,500! I have been so blessed by your generous support. God has made it abundantly clear that He desires to meet my financial needs.
There's a little something that David Platt stated in his book Radical, "He (God) is giving unlikely people his power so it is clear who deserves the glory for the success that takes place." I know that I cannot do anything in my own power because God equips those he calls. At the end of all this planning and preparation I am certain that I will know I have no power. Gracious, I already know that!! Through the fundraising I have been doing God has allowed the money to come in from unlikely places. People I don't know, broke college friends and of course family.
Sorry I don't have much to write. I will update after training camp! My next deadline is August 18th at which point I need a total of $6,500 dollars! Fortunately, I am at $5,068 so I just need a bit more to reach my second deadline!! Thank you all again for your support and prayers!!!!
