I
just returned from 10 days of training camp that were amazing. I wish I
could give you all the details; however, that is just not possible. I
heard stories that made my eyes well with tears and broke my heart,
moments of laughter that made my stomach hurt; I experienced freedom
(centimeters), I saw God show up and work in amazing ways. I learned
that port-a-potties are far better then holes in the ground. Headlamps
are far more important then you will ever realize, and showering when
it’s freezing with freezing water, is uncomfortable, but can be done.

The
most important thing though that happened over this week is what I saw
in me and others around me. I and 120 other people experienced CHANGE
these last ten days.  I went from being excited about the world race to
being on fire. The more time I’m given to process the last ten days the
more I realize that this is no longer something I desire it is
literally something I need. I came home on Sunday afternoon and
realized now that what happened over the last 10 days truly has changed
me. God has given me confirmation that this is exactly where I’m
sup
posed to be and in turn has given me, and many others the confidence
that was lacking before.

This
does not mean it will be easy. Satan is going to work very hard to put
out the fire that is starting to spread among this group. He is going
to place doubts and throw obstacles in the way. He sees “a generation
rising up to take their place” and it scares him to death. We are ready
to spread God’s Word for His glory!!

The
last moments spent in Gainesville with the January 2010 squad were much
different then when we started. It wasn’t just us who had change but
the scenery that surrounded us had changed. The leaves no longer hung
tight to their branches. Green was no longer the dominant color rather
oranges, yellows, and reds surrounded us as the sun peeked over the
tree line. I no longer stood in a group of strangers uncertain of what
was to come, rather a family that was ready to change the world. God
did some pretty amazing things at training camp but it wasn’t an ending
rather a beginning. So maybe I should say God is doing some pretty
amazing things!!! 🙂
