As the 22 of us plus Dave Hearn prayed a few days ago in our little garage classroom,I pictured us all in armor in a tight formation standing before God’s throne. We were ready for the battle that isn’t seen but unseen that is real and rages everyday all over the world. Even though I don’t know my other brothers and sisters here very well yet, I felt I did. I felt the kind of trust as if I’d known them for a long time. This picture brought the reality that we need to help oneanother fight because the battle is hard but the victory is ours. The price has been payed with Christ’s blood and now we can come boldy before God’s throne and ask for people to know him and be saved. This is a war and won’t come easy that is why we have to have our armor on and work together. These are some of the things we have been learning and thinking about over the past few days as I have been in Spain at G-42 for about a week now.
God has taken the dream of one man, Andrew Shearman and made it a reality. He realizes that there is a problem with our generation today that is that we can’t make desicions and can’t commit to things. We are so easily distracted by what the world has to offer and we are scared to take risks and step out in faith to what God is calling us to. He wants young people to step out in faith take risks and see what God does. He wants to help us in whatever ways he can to get us where we need to be to do big things. We will be challenged each day by him, Dave Hearn and other guest lecturers to step out a be men and women of God who claim our inheritance and bring God’s kingdom to this earth. They’ve warned us it won’t be easy or comfortable. They have reminded us that we aren’t here to take a vacation or find ourselves because we know who we are. We are children of God heirs of his kingdom with a call to do big things! Not in our own strength but God’s.
We were challenged the day before yesterday by Andrew to live a life that radiates fullness, light and order because this is what God is. If we as his people and are living in chaos always complaining and empty then how can people we meet or maybe people who see us everyday see Christ in us. We have no reason to complain about anything because God loves us and has given us everything. God made us in his image he called us to subdue the earth (use it’s recources for his kingdom). And take dominion over it which is bringing righteousness, peace, and joy. We have so much hope in him yet sometimes live like we don’t and live without giving life to people but instead sucking it from everyone around us. As people forgiven by him we are called to give grace and life to all.
These are just some of the things we have been talking about. It has already been challenging and I look forward to being able to let you know more I’m learning and other things going on here.
