Dear Family and Friends,
I honestly never believed I would ever be writing you a letter quite like this one. But I can confidently say that I am so thankful that God doesn’t call me according to my plans, but to His own! As you know, I was challenged to go on a mission trip to Haiti in March. I was unsure what to expect from the trip – but I definitely wasn’t prepared for the way that God used Haiti to wreck my life. And it is from this blessed wreckage that I write to you today to tell you about the next opportunity God has placed before me – the World Race!
The World Race is a journey to 11 countries in 11 months to serve “the least of these” through the organization Adventures in Missions. In September 2014, I will set out with my squad of 40-50 people for the following countries: India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, China, Mongolia and the Philippines. While on the Race, we will be partnering with a variety of local churches and ministries to share the love and hope and Good News of Jesus Christ among some of the most unreached populations of the world. As the hands and feet of Christ, we will serve by planting churches, caring for orphans, ministering to women and children enslaved in sex-trafficking, teaching in local schools and bringing the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
I am so grateful for this opportunity that God has blessed me with, and I have every confidence that He will provide for my needs! Ultimately, my prayer is that He will do that through you. I am writing to ask if you would consider partnering with me in my ministry in the following ways:
- Prayerfully – prayer is vital to my trip and I ask that you pray for me and my team as well as the countries and people we will be visiting; this is an amazing opportunity but I also know it will be a challenging year.
- Financially – I must raise $16,284 in order to go on the World Race, which covers all of my expenses on the field. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as a monthly donation, wherein you choose the amount and beginning and end date. If 27 people pledge $50 a month for 12 months, I would have 100 percent of the funds necessary for my trip.
