February 22, 2017 . This was the last basketball game I would be given the opportunity to wear a Lima Christian Saints jersey.
As senior year has gone by, I have been and I am going too experience a lot of “lasts”.
My last prom
My last Senior Night for sports
My last Chapel I get the privilege of having every Friday
My last chance to sing Happy Birthday to my best friend since Kindergarten,
And the one that I am dreading most of all…
My last exit through the school that I’ve called home since I was 5 years old.
Change happens. Growing up happens. Life HAPPENS. There is no way I can get around that and I am now starting to realize that.
But.. Thankfully , with the approaching of “lasts” comes the opportunity to make “firsts”.
This year I get to venture to Israel with my two best friends before we go our separate ways and experience this new world we are not familiar with.
This year in September, the month I’d be walking into school, I am going on a 9 month missions trip with 55 people that I KNOW I will soon call my best friends.
This year I am going to go to Africa, which I’ve been dreaming about since I was a little girl.
Change happens. Growing up happens. Life HAPPENS. There is no way I can get around that and I am now starting to realize that, and…
I think I’m okay with it.
God has a whole world out there for me to experience. God has a whole new chapter of my life that he’s written. God is sending me out. To serve the least of these.
To change this world.
