There's more to it than that, I think.
I'm impulisve and stubborn, I run fast and I fight hard and I won't be distracted by- oh wait, is that ice cream? Mmm!
See what I mean?
I live big and I dream bigger, and sometimes that works and sometimes it's… messy.
Like today. I'm supposed to be driving up to Michigan, moving into Fairbanks, joining the ranks of other Hope students, Sigmas and dancers and friends.
But instead I woke up early to pick up a high schooler for breakfast, and now I'm about to go to work.
Why?
This past week about a hundred- odd racers banded together in a little place called Gainesville, GA (referred to as HQ from here on out) to stare at each other in agony and ask the dreaded, "what are you doing with your life??" question.
Except, we're actually starting to give answers now.
Rachael, Tabi and Roberto are joining Kristen in Cambodia (and they need some more men, hint hint).
Erin is starting a mobile coffee shop.
Kelly is going to Thailand.
April is going to become a doulah, and Charlotte a nurse.
Joy is going to Sudan.
Emily is going to worship school.
Sheila is joining Sarah in London.
Annie is going to the Middle East.
I'm going to Spain, and I was going to leave today (don't worry, Mom, I'm waiting a few more weeks!).
What are you doing with your life?
Get out there, make things happen. Sure, you'll fall a few times. You'll probably have some culture shock, lots of tear filled nights, long conversations with parents and friends about what happened to your white- picket- fenced plan (not that I think that's bad).
It's ok.
"You have a passport," Andrew Shearman told us, "so pick a pace and go."
The world is waiting.
