Congratulations, T Squad- you survived Africa and have officially made it to month 8 and Thailand. In typical World Race style, the journey was as much of an event as the destination: 5 days, 4 bus rides, 3 countries, 2 bags (each), 1 train and 0 sleep.
We arrived just a little worse for the wear at SHE ministries around 8am Monday morning (we left Cape Town last Wednesday). After a quick bowl of cereal, we were off and running… to our beds, expecting to have the day off to breathe and relax. You’d think by month 8 we’d know better.
We had a quick briefing this afternoon about SHE ministries and what we’d be doing, then we were informed that worship was at 8pm and immediately after some of us would be going to the red light district while the rest of us stayed back to intercede.
And that’s how at 11pm found about 20 Racers (cankles and all) on the floor in the prayer room, surrounded by all the names of all bars in the red light district and the women who had been spoken to, hardcore interceding on behalf of the small group that was still out talking to them.
Welcome to Thailand. Welcome to SHE. Welcome to the work of the Lord in Phucket.
This is baptism by fire.
It’s going to be a crazy month. 🙂
PS- I promise to finish posting the South Africa blogs asap, AND pictures. Promise. Hold me to it.
