This journey has been a long process of trust and waiting on the Lord. At the beginning of the race we were told that month 10 would be an ATL or ask the Lord month.  This means that each team had the opportunity to pray about where God was leading us and set up the full month of ministry ourselves.  I kind of put that aside and didn’t think about it again until July when we as a team started praying about where we would be going. One night we were praying and God gave me an image of this beautiful landscape with flat rice fields and then mountains in the distance. I didn’t know where this was but as a team we felt drawn to Viet Nam. One of the guys on my team was the only one that felt something different. It wasn’t until the following month when he was switched to a different team that this started to come together. He was feeling Thailand and what do you know that is where he is this month. One of the girls that joined my team felt strongly about going to Viet Nam but she was the only one on her team and what do you know she is with us here. Isn’t God amazing to work all this out?

The journey to get here was long and took many forms. We left Tanzania on Saturday the 24th and did not arrive until Thursday the 29th. We rode on: 2 planes, 1 van, 1 ferry, 1 train, 1 tuck tuck, 1 car, 2 pickup trucks, and 3 buses to get here.  It was definitely worth the discomfort and sleepless nights. We travelled through Tanzania, Kenya, Thailand and Cambodia on our journey.

We rode the train up to Da Nang where we are staying this first week in Viet Nam. I was woken up at 5am to the most beautiful sunrise and as we rode through the countryside I was reminded of that picture that God had given me way back in August. The picture he gave me was exactly the image I saw out of the train window and I knew that we were where God wanted us. I am amazed at how God has brought this all together and excited for what is ahead.

Just a little tid bit for you all: The first thing I learned about Viet Nam is that it is not one word but two.
