Highlights of Peru
- All month we were bugged about eating ginea pig and each meal they would laugh and say that was what it was and then tell us the truth that it was just beef or chicken so finally this week some of the ladies prepared ginea pig for us and let me tell you that is something I can now say did that no need to do that again. First off the meat was so little that it didn’t seem worth killing a little critter for. Each plate cost 8 sole which I know I can find something I like a lot better for 8 sole. (By the wasy this is less than 4 american dollars)
- Walking through the market in Chepen bustling with activity, seeing all the interesting things you could buy from fruit to underwear.
- Riding in a tiny little car the size of a golf cart on three wheels. This is the main form of transportation in Chepen and I see them a bit elsewhere but in Chepen they were everywhere because the streets were so narrow this is what would fit easily.
- Working along side team members to complete the task at hand, keeping joy in our conversations.
- Performing a skit at a youth event and watching almost the entire audience go up to the front afterwards because they were dedicating their lives to Christ.
- Having been blessed to be able to come to Peru and see God’s hand working here in the lives of those we met.
