Northern Alberta is currently in a deep freeze. I was wondering if winter would forget to hit this year but of course that would not be the case. One of my very selfish reasons for joining the world race was being able to escape the winter for one year. This of course is crazy because even though we have cold winter’s in Alberta we also have many wonderful times that involve the snow and cold. This gets me thinking of all the fun times I have had with my friends or family in the winter such as skiing, skating,sledding or building snow forts. Lots of happy memories involve snow. So why does it also make me cringe and want to hibernate?
I am reminded that God never promises us good weather all the time he only promises that he would never leave us. He walks with us in the snow storm or in the tornado and also on the sunny day. He teaches us in Ecclesiastes 3 “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven”
God goes with us during each season of our lives and each season is just as important as the last. What ever season you are in right now whether it is a happy time or a hard time God is there walking right beside you.
