10 things I learned/relearned in Gua Musang
1. To not be content in my walk ever. That the way I was saved will only be the beginning of many testimonies. Every year, every month, every day will be a day that is a testament to His goodness.
2. That my faith is still so small. “Help my unbelief” I want so badly to be able to trust in God completely. That when I pray, I will know that I have authority and power through the Holy Spirit. That when I think about my future, I have complete peace knowing that HE IS in control. That I can live fully as a daughter of the most high king, and live peacefully with all the wonderful promises that He has given us.
3. That God is so good. WHY in the world would he want a personal relationship with us? That he cares about our prayers. He cares about our requests. He understands our hurts and pains. He listens… and responds. WHAT?!
4. When multiple churches work together to further the kingdom in their town/city, it is SO beautiful and powerful.
5. Living in obedience to the Lord is outrageous at times. I observed the people who were called to Gua Musang this month and was simply amazed at their obedience. They have CHOSEN to obey and move to a little town… practically in the middle of NOWHERE. Although some things seem impossible, there is SO much hope in Jesus Christ.
6. Writing down goals for the month, week, or day helps you be more intentional with the time that we are gifted with. It allows you to work harder and gives one strength to get things accomplished.
7. VBS/children ministry is a HUGE outlet for families to come to Christ. I’ve heard so many testimonies about how people from non-christian backgrounds have come to Christ as a child through that ministry. SO, when doing VBS… INVITE all the children from different backgrounds and religion. INVITE the families to join them one day. TAKE it seriously.
8. Healthy relationships — High Love allows you to call others higher in their weaknesses to look more like Jesus. Q: How I do I reflect Jesus character? Q: How can I grow to be more like Jesus?
9. Being available. The person next to you is your mission field. Just because it’s your off day… it shouldn’t be an excuse to do nothing. In order for this mission trip to be a change in my future life, I should be able to see ministry opportunities in all places of my life. Ministry is NOT a schedule of things to do, it’s the person next to you. Remember, if every single person was Jesus… how would you treat them?
10. I want to grow more in my confidence and boldness in who I am so that when I share with people about what Jesus has done, people can tell that it is true & would want Jesus as much as I desire Jesus.
