What's up y'all? My name is Myles Willman and I am going to be spending eleven months in eleven different countries doing mission work on the World Race. If you knew me a year ago you would have never believed that I was actually doing something like this. See, I am a newly recommitted Christian. I started going to church again last January after about a fifteen year hiatus. Needless to say, that fifteen years did not go so well for me. I will write a whole testimonial Blog post at a later time because I have a lot to say on that subject. I want to thank you for taking the time to read this Blog and for any prayer support and/or financial support you might be willing to give. This is an incredible opportunity I have been given to literally go out into the world and spread God's love to the poor, the hungry, the sick, and the lost. Here is some general information on who I am and where I'm coming from:

  • I am 34 years old. (35 when I leave for the Race)
  • I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. (so I'm kinda a redneck)
  • I was raised in a loving Christian home by my mother and my father, Harris and Bootsie Willman.
  • I am a middle child. I have an older sister named Branden (38) and a younger sister named Maggie (33). That's right folks, I was the only boy trapped right between two crazy, fun, creative, moody, energetic, artistic, beautiful, amazing sisters.
  • I am also an uncle. My sister Branden has the two cutest little boys God could ever put on this earth (ok, so I'm a little bias in my opinion). Ezra is 3 and Atticus is turning 1 this month. Words cannot describe the love I have for my nephews.
  • I love getting tattoos. (This is a random fact, but a fact all the same)
  • I have been blessed enough to find my way to River City Church, the best church in the entire world. I really, really, really love my church and my church family. Seriously, RCC is the happiest place on earth, not Disney World. (I live 2.5 hours from Disney, so I am fully qualified to make this assessment.)
  • God has made it very clear to me that I have what seems like an infinite number of amazing people in my life (friends and family) who have stuck with me and prayed for me through some very rough times.
  • After failing miserably at business school, I started cooking in restaurants. This led to culinary school where I excelled. I worked in the restaurant industry on and off for fifteen years.
  • I am a recovering drug addict. (more about this in my testimonial Blog)
  • I am currently unemployed. (Though looking for some form of employment to get me through July when I leave for the World Race)
  • I know in my heart, without a doubt, that there is a God and that His Son, Jesus Christ died on a cross for my sins and your sins and everybody else's sins (thats a lot of sin!). Without God's Grace and Forgiveness, I would not be alive today to be writing this post.
  • I love Jesus!!
  • My greatest desire is to go out into the world and help others know the love of Christ the way I have come to know it.

I am very excited about writing this first Blog and starting off this whole incredible process. I felt like I needed to be brutally honest with y'all right off the bat. I would like to go ahead and thank you again for taking the time to read this. I plan on posting new Blogs at least once a week so that you can all know where I am in my preparation for this trip, where I am in my fundraising, and where I am in my walk with Jesus. If you would like to donate any money to my new adventure with Christ, you can just click the tab that says Support Me. The Support Me tab is very important to me because I'm in no position to support myself financially on a trip like this. I know that God will provide in this area. Most importantly I would really appreciate your Prayers. Prayers from the people who love me have gotten me this far in life, so y'all please keep 'em comin' (told you I'm kinda a redneck). God Bless all of you! Love Y'all!!!!!
