The tickets had been bought. They told the whole squad they
were going home. There were tears and hugs. But… God said no.
Three weeks ago I was ok with Jen and Josh going home. They
had fought the good fight but $12,000 was just too much. As soon as I said that
God said no. He reminded me of how much He provided for me. He reminded me of
His power. He told me to fight.
I fought by myself in the comfort of my own prayers and
intercession.
But He said that wasn’t good enough so I told Jen and Josh I
was fighting for them.
Then He told me to tell my team.
Then He told me to tell my family and friends.
Next He wanted me to make it public and write a blog and
Facebook posts.
How much are you willing to fight Moriah? Are you willing to
look like a fool for me?
I felt like a fool at times. The people around me kept
saying the reality is they are going home. And they were right they were. But…
God said no.
The night they announced they were going home I wanted to
stand up and shout NO! God stirred in my heart that night to now take my belief
in front of the whole squad. Yikes. It was already painful for them I didn’t
want to stir up the waters. I didn’t say anything that night because it wasn’t
time. I asked the Lord to confirm through Jen and Josh that He had told them He
was going to provide. I wanted to know He had told them not just me.
Us three went to lunch the next day. I asked questions and
the convo turned into what is at home that they get to go back to etc. It
wasn’t what I was looking for. But I kept searching.
Later that day I got the answer. The Lord had told Josh back
in Central America that He would provide and that they would be on the race
till the end. The Lord speaks to Josh. He told Him to trust Him at His word.
His word is as solid as concrete and he can stand on it. It is so hard to
discern sometimes whether God is speaking from our own desires or we are
hearing His desires. But today it was clear as crystal blue waters that God had
spoken and He would not disappoint.
It was time to worship. I walked in the room and fell to my
knees. I knew it was time. I knew I had to say something.
“Lord can you just give me a little confirmation? I know you
told me to do this and I want to be strong enough to do it without confirmation
but just a little bit would help a whole lot a bit.” He loves me that is all I
can say. He gave it to me. I opened my little orange borrowed Gideon’s bible.
“God what verse” Matthew 12:21 “In His name Gentiles would trust.” Boom. His
name. Duh. His name is provider. We can trust in that!
The story of Abraham, Sarah and Isaac has been the theme for
my last week as well as Jen and Josh’s. Abraham and Sarah were promised a
child. The wait became too much and they tried to do it in their own efforts
creating Ishmael. But God would proved faithful and at the age of 99 Sarah
finally bore the promised one.
Jen and Josh have been raising money for two years. They got
to know two different squads but because of lack of funds had to keep switching
to later squads. They made it to training camp for L squad. Each deadline along
the way was an earnest fight to reach. Their team has fought harder than anyone
else. Each month their whole team would pray and believe that God would
provide. Their team has walked through it all with them, the ups and downs,
tears and victories. Was God going to provide like He did for Abraham and
Sarah? Jen and Josh put it on the alter and had the knife to the throat of this
dream. But…God said no.
He rose up an army of fighters that night. As I spoke out
what He had told me the room exploded with faith. As I took my seat on the
floor I knew He would come through. I had done my part and was obedient and now
He would do His part. I knew He wouldn’t disappoint and it didn’t matter even
if He did because I knew I had done all that He told me to. I rejoiced in Him
and danced.
Well… He did it.
What seemed impossible God deemed POSSIBLE.
Jen and Josh’s teams name is Living Water. This is the verse
the Lord gave me this morning right before He provided.
“Joyfully you’ll pull up buckets of water (living water)
from the wells of salvation. And as you do it, you’ll say, GIVE THANKS to GOD,
call out his name (provider) Ask him anything! SHOUT to the nations, tell them
what HE’S done; spread the news of his great reputation! Sing praise- songs to
God. He’s done it all.” – Isaiah 12:3-4
He pulled up buckets of water (finances) from none other
than our squad. The last needed funds came in from our family. This community.
This body. His body.
He did it and we can’t be grateful enough. We had called out
His name last night. “In His NAME gentiles will trust.” We trusted in His name,
provider. We asked. And now we SHOUT it from the rooftops! GOD HAS DONE IT! HE
is WORTHY to be trusted! He is FAITHFUL to finish the work He started! HE
SPEAKS and HE WILL HOLD TRUE TO HIS WORD!!!! You can take Him at His word; you
can hold Him to His name.
May this be a testimony to all generations, every nation and
tongue that OUR GOD REIGNS! He is alive! He does miracles today. He speaks, we
obey and He does the work.
If you are reading this and haven’t fully trusted in the
NAME above all names. Don’t wait another day. He provided His one and only son
to take the punishment we deserved. Because Jen and Josh didn’t get their
finances they deserved to go home… but God took their financial burden on
Himself. He covered it and provided. In the same way you can bring all your
failures, mishaps and sins to the foot of the cross. He takes it. He does the
work. At His feet there is freedom. Repent and believe before our HOLY God who
is the ONLY way the ONLY truth and the life. No one comes to the Father or is
made right except through what Jesus did on the cross. Because of His sacrifice
we can truly have abundant life.
Special THANK YOU to my friends and family who believed at
the times I didn’t. Who believed so much so to give in faith. I FIRMLY believe
that it is through the prayers of the righteous this all came about. Your
prayers moved the mountain of money. Your support brought faith and fueled the
rest pouring in. Thank you! The Lord used you to ultimately accomplish His
will.
Praise HIM! I asked Him how He could get the most glory from
this. And He said worship me. So that is what I will do and I hope you join me.
Let us worship Him for WHO HE IS!
Not to us, not to us but to your NAME be ALL the glory,
honor, and PRAISE!
