Her name is Rosite

She was orphaned at the age of 7

Left to scavenge for food from trashcans and street debris

She was taken to become a mans maid

With only a first grade education she was dependent on
others

She prostituted herself in order to eat

She eventually got pregnant

She was on the streets again

She dug through trashcans to sell what she found to provide
for her children

She contracted a disease in her stomach

In 1985 all three of her children were taken because she was
so sick

7 doctors later and she was on her death bed

There was no hope

But…

What the doctors couldn’t do the Lord could

He sent missionaries to pray for her and she was healed!!

He took her off of the streets and restored her

She is now 59 healed and serving the Lord

She now volunteers with a local school to teach children

Can you say PRAISE THE LORD!?! Praise Him!

-Behind the scenes-

I woke up grumpy

I was frustrated with where I was with the Lord

I had let other things steal my time and affection from Him

I was supposed to help lead the senior citizens bible study that
morning

What could I possibly speak on?

I had nothing

I got really real with the Lord

I laid it out plainly how I felt

and repented for my sin

He took it from there

He led me to split the big group into smaller groups

He told me it’s all about relationships

So we did

It was awesome

8 little women, one little man and then little ole me

I still didn’t have a word to share with them

There was a language barrier

So God led

He told me to go get a bible in their language

They don’t need my words but His

I opened my bible and read in John about faith

Then they read in their language

They loved it and we began to discuss faith

I had some help from one of the ladies who knew a little
English (sister Ching)

She began to speak and then they all did

They went around and shared their faith in the Lord

It was beautiful

I didn’t want it to end

Every other group had gone and it was just us sharing and
laughing together

I then closed the time in prayer

But God wasn’t done

Some of the ladies and I went back to the church

Rosite was on my heart during our bible study together

She had shared a little about her life and I wanted to know
more

She began to talk

Sister Ching translated what she could

Rosite began to weep

I held her and felt her deep pain

She said she normally doesn’t share her story

She said it always makes her sad and cry

The pain she went through is unfathomable

But the Lord is good

In that moment the Lord told me He wanted to heal more of her
heart

He touched her as I prayed

I believe He healed parts of her broken heart that morning!

When we get out of the way He moves. In my flesh I would have let the bible study be led by a
team member in the large group. That way I didn’t have to share and could hide in the
background. I would have missed the relationships He wanted me to build
in the small circle. We would have missed the faith that was built in the circle. I would have missed Rosite. I wouldn’t have gotten to hear the amazing testimony of
Jesus’ power through her life. Her heart wouldn’t have been healed…

So thankful the Lord uses us despite us sometimes

So thankful for His grace when we are grumpy

So thankful that grace moves us to repentance

So thankful He speaks

So thankful He moves

So thankful He builds faith

So thankful He heals

So thankful that He showed me a glimpse of the impact missionaries can have. Sometimes it is hard not seeing the fruit of our labor. Sometimes the going gets tough. But that doesn’t mean we stop going, loving or laboring. He is faithful.

When we are grumpy, frustrated, tired, dirty, selfish and done
how many of yall know that doesn’t change who our God is? He is the same. He
never changes despite our many changes. He then takes our moody crazy changing
selves and turns it for His good and glory. That’s our God. A game changer. He
loves to use messed up people to bring wholeness and healing to others. Maybe
He is the crazy one…crazy awesome that is! I love that about Him. He goes
against the ways of this world. His thoughts and ways are truly higher than
ours. Thank the Lord! He is worthy of our praise no matter the circumstances.
