Some people may think I am crazy for doing this.. and I have heard many negative things like “You will never raise that much money,” “$16,000…yeah right.” Well our God is so good.
1 John 5:14 says “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
A few weeks ago I asked God to help me with fundraising. To send a flood. Like Elijah in 1 Kings 17-18 there was a drought. Mom and I were both so discouraged as no donations were coming in. We were planning and fundraising and nothing… I got so many good wishes and encouraging thoughts, but there was no financial help. I prayed and prayed for God to give both of us peace…to know and have faith that He would provide. Last Monday night mom was worried again about fundraising. I told her that “maybe we were trying to hard. Lets just stop planning and trying for a bit. We need to stop pushing it and trust God will take care of it when He is ready.”
I went to band practice for the Boiling Springs Campus of NewSpring Tuesday night and called mom on my way home. She said hurry home I have big news. She told me a cousin of hers text her and said she got my fundraising letter in the mail and wanted to give a rather large donation. I started balling my eyes out. When I got home we called her. Her and her husband do not have a home church. So every year they save their tithes and this time a year they start praying for God to show them where to give their them. She said they started praying Friday for God to show them where…they got my letter Monday. She said they wanted to donate $4,500 to my trip. I have never felt more blessed in my life. Since Monday more and more people have been donating. Several people who I don’t even know. I am beyond blessed to say that since Monday….not even a full week I have $5,100 dollars in my fund for the World Race.
I never really understood before what it means for God to provide. I’ve always had everything I ever wanted or needed. I am now depending on God to provide instead of my parents. I am trusting in Him above everyone else. In less than 7 days I am a quarter of the way funded!! WOW!!! I know that in the coming months God is going to give me a down poor of Grace. He is going to show me and my family His power.
Thank you so much to all who have donated. I can not thank you enough. I really can’t. I want to thank God for showing me his power and might. For showing me what having a little faith can do. Imagine if we have tremendous faith in God…we can change the WORLD.
(Matthew 17:20) He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Please continue to pray for me and my team. For the hearts of the people we will meet to be prepared for what is to come. Although I am a quarter of the way there I still need 11,166 more dollars. So please pray and if you are led please invest in my mission trip.
