AFRICA!
54 K Squaders….3 Months…1 Continent….Will they all survive?!

This was what was going through my head as I looked down on the plains of Uganda from my airplane window. I saw dirt, trees, Lake Victoria, huts, hills, smoke, and a lion attacking a gazelle 😉

I was overwhelmed by excitement and a little bit terrified at the same time.

When we finally touched land in Uganda for month 6 debrief, I could tell this was going to be way different than what I had expected. The air was lighter and not just because we were finally out of the crazy Asian smog. No, something had shifted spiritually between here and Asia. The heaviness of muslim prayer calls and offerings to false gods on every corner was gone.

As we drove down the road, I was in shock. Churches, Christian businesses, and street evangelists lined the roads. I was so not used to this! It was such a relief to see such visible evidence of the kingdom work that had been done in this land. I know there is still an immense need everywhere we go, but this gave my heart a lot of joy.

Our taxi driver told me that his church has thousands of people in the congregation and that there's no room left in the building! He said that this is a very common problem in most villages. Then, he proceeded to play christian music and share a little bit of his testimony.

I don't know what I expected from Africa, but it sure wasn't this. It didn't look, sound, or feel like I thought it would!
I think God knew what He was doing when he brought us here from Asia, halfway through the race. It was a little bit of hope, a little bit of light, and a little bit of relief for my heart. I didn't realize just how trying the spiritual battle we've been fighting is. I think He was handing us some encouragement to keep pressing on, because He is working in ways and places we don't expect!

I know Africa has a lot of bondage and it's not going to be easy. I know we are going to face a lot of things that we haven't experienced yet. I know we are going to be in some really rough situations.
But I also know, that God is with us every step of the way! I know that His love is powerful! I know that He is doing amazing things all around this world.
