The World Race. Healings, Miracles, Open Air Crusade Revivals!

This is what was going through my mind as I traveled, for 3 days, from the US to Malaysia. We had heard all these huge incredible earth-shaking stories and now it is time to live them. Oh, when I get off this plane, I will probably be headed to a tin shack that I can call home for a month. Only to move to a different tin shack in another country the next month. I haven't slept for three days, but I probably won't get any rest either, because as soon as I get there we will start some intense form of ministry. I am really hungry, but I probably won't get food for awhile, either! RAAAAWR! This is the race!
Let's go do this thing…

That's not what the world race is all about and that's not what I got when I landed in Malaysia. Don't get me wrong, we have seen God do some amazing miracles! But really our ministry seemed to be through the small and mundane things.

Now, I am on month 2 in Darwin, Australia. We are partnered with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Outback this month. We have been so blessed to have the opportunity to work at a homeless shelter, help out at a local church, do prayer walks, evangelize to Aussies and Aboriginals throughout the city, cook dinner each night for the 20 + people staying on the YWAM base, and clean…alot.

In one week, I pressure washed multiple verandas, I got down on my hands and knees to scrub multiple porches with a brush and soapy water, I swept and mopped rooms, I did a whole lot of laundry, I organized shelves of food and tupperware, I cleaned the kitchen, I cooked dinner twice, I scrubbed dishes, I washed mega huge tents with a hose and a broom, I scrubbed excess grout off of multiple walls at the homeless shelter, I chopped a whole lot of vegetables, I cleaned off windows and door frames, I washed off tables and chairs, I vaccumed off cushions, I wiped down railings, and other stuff that I can't remember…I told you, we clean alot!

So how is all this cleaning advancing the kingdom of God exactly? I have supporters who are waiting for an earth-shattering miraculous blog, with one of those crazy mission stories you've only ever heard about! The only thing I have seen be brought back to life are the leftovers from yesterday…

"It's not the season, Morgan" – God

The YWAM staff have been working insanely long hours to keep things running smooth at the base here. They haven't had a team come in for a few months to help assist them with things. They have been doing an amazing job keeping things going, but it's a lot of work. So, us coming and scrubbing the floors, makes their burden lighter. It allows them the opportunity to focus and pour into their ministry here at YWAM.

The same thing applies to the church and the homeless shelter we are working at. They have stuff that they need done, but haven't had the time to be able to do it, because there are more pressing things they need to deal with first. When we scrub walls or chop vegetables it takes a burden from them. It lifts them up and makes things that much easier for them. They are then able to take that engery, time, and freedom and put it into expanding their ministry. I see the dishes I am washing, but God sees ripple effect from that dish water. I may just be cooking spaghetti, but God sees the ripple effect from those noodles. I may not always see how those small things are impacting the kingdom, but the Lord does.

"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." – 1 Corinthians 10:31

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." – Colossians 3:17

Everyone's race is different. But I have come to learn that my race is all about obedience. The Lord delights when we are obedient in what He gives us. Our joyful and willing spirits bless Him. Everything I do, let it be without questions. I pray that I serve with the confidence that the Lord is going to bless the fruits of my labor. He has a plan and a purpose for every single thing we do every single day. So, as I am organizing cabinets. let me remember that, that is, earth-shattering, kingdom building, life-impacting, and miraculous work.

Just like Cinderella,
I will scrub, cook, and do whatever is asked of me with a joyful heart
…Knowing that someday my Prince will come.

Okay, the last part is cheesey, but I had to tie the title in somehow!
You love me and I love you 🙂
