Here is my World Race support letter for anyone who has not already received it!
Dear Friends and Family,
This time of the year is filled with much stress and excitement for me. Being a senior in high school, I have spent all year praying and exploring my options for next year and beyond. This has not been entirely easy for me considering I am easily distracted and have a lot of things requiring my attention (school, dance team, youth programs, job, etc.) That said, I am truly blessed for the amazing experiences each has provided me and the impact each has had on me up to now. Through all of the craziness that has clouded my senior year, God has been whispering and brewing up something powerful inside of me.
While I love learning, I honestly had no idea what college to attend or major to study. Even though I applied and heard back from many universities, not one called my name, and God had still not revealed His path. That was until I heard about the World Race and was instantly reminded about the call I had received over the previous summer.
Last summer, the summer before my senior year, I had the incredible opportunity to serve in El Tizate, Guatemala alongside my home church. While there, we installed water purification systems and educated the village members about operation and sanitation. I spent 9 days learning what it meant to serve Christ and grow in love for God and all of His children. Guatemala is where God broke into my life and revealed His calling for me. That summer I learned that God has blessed me greatly with not only compassion and empathy, but a servant’s heart. He broke my heart for what breaks His. For these reasons, a part of my heart will always remain in Guatemala, for it is where I heard God speak to me.
After a lot of prayer and discernment about my future, I am beyond excited to announce that I will be participating in The World Race Gap Year program. I will be travelling to 3 different countries – spending 3 months in each – demonstrating God’s love and grace onto everyone I meet. The countries I will be living in and growing spiritually in are Guatemala, Malaysia, and Botswana. At this time, I have fully surrendered to Christ and am very excited as to how He will continually reveal Himself to me through this unforgettable journey that He has called me to this next year and beyond. I will be working as a missionary, serving God’s people and spreading His word to everyone with the ultimate goal of expanding the Kingdom.
God made us interdependent so that we may grow into deeper intimacy with Him and His people. Through my faith walk I must learn to rely on God as well as others. For me, the most important thing I can ask of you is to pray for my team and I that we stay true to God’s call for us. Additionally, for those who can support financially, I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider donating to my mission. The overall cost of my mission work is a little over $12,000 – which will go 100% towards the work I am doing within the World Race and those I am working to help. While this amount initially sounded daunting, I know that God will provide for my calling, and He will use you to do so.
There are many ways that these funds come in. Financial gifts, both one-time and monthly are amazing ways you can serve God and be a part of a bigger role He is working in the world. If you feel that God has blessed you greatly, please consider donating to my mission to fight in God’s army and to serve His children all around the world. Let’s say 60 people invest $100 in my name and my mission, I will have already met my first fundraising goal due by May 22.
It is important to understand that this money does not only support me and my work, but it makes it possible for others around the world to experience God in new ways. My team may be translating bibles so that God’s beloved may be able to read His word for the first time, serving food to people who can’t feed themselves, or working with victims of human trafficking or abuse. No matter how, be rest assured the money will be spent building relationships with our brothers and sisters around the world so that they may have a better understanding of their Lord and Savior. I have been called and committed to the World Race, and I need your help. Please prayerfully consider filling out the donation card or going online to www.theworldrace.org and donating in my name. The link is also posted on my Facebook page for you to donate at any time. Please contact me if you have any questions or wish to pray with me. God Bless!!
In Christ,
