First things first, I made a website. If you know me and my lack of technological
aptitude that sentence is more like, “Guess what, I rock the world and against
all odds, I actually made a website, WOOHOO!”

So check it out, www.mojourneys.com.  It includes information on upcoming trips as
well as local mission opportunities.  My
long-term plan is to transfer my blog over there, but I can do one technologically advanced thing at a time.

Last weekend I got to go on a Mexico mission adventure with
Brandon and Andrew.  After visiting Jose
Luis and Cindy
down there before Christmas I was itching to go back.  I love the partnering with the church plant
in Vista Del Valle that they are working on.
(On our way down)

Friday afternoon we loaded up the car with about 50 gallon
sized cans and some awesome donated flashlights.  Lately the border has been pretty strict
about taxing things that are taken into Mexico.
We prayed before crossing that there wouldn’t be any trouble.

The way the border is redone it allows one car to go at a
time, then they check most of the cars.
The little stop/go light worked perfectly for the car before us.  They pulled forward and went into one of the
spots to have all the contents in their car checked out.  Then, when it was our turn the light got
stuck on green and the gate was stuck in the up position.  We waited for a long time, but eventually
just took a free pass and drove on into Mexico.
It was a little thing but such a direct answer to prayer.  We were able to distribute the food to some
of the ladies in the church who don’t have enough to feed their families.

Throughout the weekend I constantly felt like we were in the
right place at the right time.  The
highlight for me was spending time with the kids in Vista Del Valle.  They don’t get a lot of teams out there and
definitely aren’t used to seeing outsiders interact with their kids.  While we kicked the soccer ball around and did a
slightly muddled David and Goliath skit, Jose Luis and Cindy got to connect
with parents and invite them to church.
It was a good day!

That evening we really suffered for the Lord went out for an
AMAZING lobster dinner.  For $15 we got
lobster, shrimp, fish and calamari.
Seafood is my absolute favorite so I was in heaven!!!

During the car ride back we couldn’t stop talking about the
next trip.  We kept dreaming of how to partner, in an ongoing way, with the ministry Jose Luis and Cindy are doing Vista Del Valle.  I’ll be posting the next trip dates
on my new website and I am also in the process of creating a Facebook page to get
the word out about trips – so check it out.
