Today one of the provinces that we drove through was famous for it’s edible spiders.  We stopped for a few minutes and Andrew bought some to bring to our 50 days left on the World Race celebration BBQ.  I can’t resist a challenge, so I decided to try one.  Once I got over the fear of picking it up (even though it was already dead), it wasn’t too bad.  The legs were crunchy and tasted kind of like teriyaki and the butt was squishy and chewy, but definitely edible.  After that I couldn’t bring my self to go any further.

I was reminded tonight that even though I am excited to get home, I am going to miss my friends from this year like crazy.  God has surrounded me with amazing people.  We talked for awhile at the BBQ about how weird it will be to have alone time when we get back to the U.S.  It will be different to not spend every day, all day with the same group of people.  I am so thankful to have great friends both on the Race and at home.

Becca, Talia, Jon (making the real attractive face in the background), and me at the BBQ!  I love my friends!

My teammate Emilie just wrote a great blog about our team emiliejanson.theworldrace.org, check it out.
