Hey everyone!

My name is Morgan Malone! Sometimes, I find it overwhelming describing who I am to people, but WHOSE I am is a different story. So we will start there.  I am first and foremost a follower of the Most High God. I eagerly and whole-heartedly seek after His will for me in all aspects of my life, which lead me here to this moment writing my “about me” section for the WORLD RACE!
I am not like most, who spent their whole childhood in church and then forget about or turned away from the Lord when they got to college.  I am in fact the complete opposite.  It was my Freshman year at ECU where I encountered the Lord and learned what a real, tangible relationship with Jesus Christ looks like.  Since then it has been a crazy roller coaster ride with many ups and downs, but overall a worthwhile adventure!

I am 22 years old and currently attend East Carolina University. I graduate in May with my degree in Social Work. Whoop Whoop! I did not put much thought into my selection when I first chose social work as my intended major but I have come to really love this profession and identify with its core values and purpose.

When asked where I am from I typically respond with “everywhere!” My family was military, which means we moved around… a lot.  Every two years we were off to the next place. It was not until my parent’s divorce and my mother’s decision to move closer to her family did we really settle in one area. Meaning from 13 on I called Indian Trail, NC (right outside of Charlotte) home. That is until I came to ECU, where I now find my home with my beloved roommate (shout out to Katie Hatfield) in Greenville, NC.

Now for the fun, quirky stuff
I have a cherished taxidermy deer ‘Cecil’ who is usually covered in seasonal décor (see picture)
I serve every Thursday night with some AMAZING people at Victory Campus Ministry
On weekends I can be found organizing frames and assisting extreme crafters at A.C. Moore
I have a twin brother who currently lives in Milan as a profession model and a 17- year-old sister who is a horse extroidinaire and incredible artist
My mom is an adventurer and I think I get my desire to see and experience life in it’s fullest from her.
My dad is an awesome provider and can usually be found crusin’ the seas in his sailboat.
Halloween. My most FAVORITE holiday… not in some creepy, Satanic way but in a fun, dramatic costume way!
If you see me around town I will probably be toting some wheel chairs in my 1998 Volvo station wagon and advocating for accessibility for the disabled as an intern with Disability Advocates and Resource Center.
My love for Hispanic everything runs deep. Especially the language, food and sugar skulls (one of which I have tattooed on my foot)
If you walked into my house you would stumble upon a small collection of obscure instruments I have collected from my travels and over the years… (I still need to learn how to play my antique accordion)
Lastly, I am to the core a lover of people. I love people of every shape, color, ethnicity and background and have been blessed to be shaped and influenced by so many.

There are endless things to know and I CANNOT WAIT to begin this adventure with all of you! Thanks for   reading!
