Human Trafficking in Eastern Europe and South East Asisa are at an all time high. Women, children, and men are being taking each year to use as sex slaves a labor slaves. Here are some numbers for you, showing just how many people each year are used in human trafficking!
- 27million people are in modern-day slavery across the world.
- 1 million children are exploited by human trafficking each year.
- 161 countries are known to be involed in human trafficking
- THE UNTIED STATES IT TOWARDS THE TOP!
- 32 billion dollars are the total profit of human trafficing each year.
- 800,000 people are traffickied across the boarder each year.
The yellow is Trafficking In Person. Now this is only in Europe and in 2006. That means this table is 4 years old. Just imageing what the numbers will look like today or two years from now.
It hurts my heart to see these numbers. To see that the country I live in is towards the top of human trafficking in the world. I believe that everyone should get the chance to live, to love, to have a home, to be loved by someone, for someone to care about them. These kids, these women and young men, are taken from their homes, from the street. They are dressed up, and paraded around to the highest bidder. They are sold as sex slaves, work slaves. They are worked to almost death. The only way that can get out is if we help them, or if they die and then they would be freed from the terrible things they have had to be done to them, to all the things they had seen.
If I can save 10 children, so they could have a better life. A life without trafficking their body, and being used. Then I know, they would have a better life, and actually enjoy being a kid. Thats what I hope to acheive while on this race. If I can save more, then that would make me so happy. I can’t imageing what thous children feel everyday.
