Mark 10:13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15  “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” 16 And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them.

Jesus loved children and spoke many times about childlike faith. Childlike faith verses have created much discussion and much study over the years. What does it mean to have childlike faith? The first and second graders at St. Malachy’s understand it.

They are curious. Each student wrote me a question about my 11 country mission trip; Why are you doing this? Will you take a boat? What will you do if you get sick?

They are faithful. Faithful means having or showing true and constant support or loyalty. They are so supportive; they pray for me daily, raised money for me, wrote me questions and give me hugs.

They are prayerful. One student wrote on my card, “I will pray for you the rest of my life.” I have mothers stop me at the grocery store or Walgreens and tell me their son/daughter prays for me daily.

They are good stewards of the Lord’s money. They raised over $100 for me by doing chores around the house. I can’t wait to bless children around the world with this $100.

They are teachable. They are asking questions, reading their Bibles, and watching the examples being set around them.

They show humility. 1 Peter 3:8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.

What type of faith do you have? Are you curious? Are you faithful? Are you prayerful?

Thank you St. Malachy’s for inviting me in to your classroom and your lives! I can’t wait to meet more little ones around the world! (Also a shout out to my Wednesday morning faithfuls!)
