2 weeks ago I returned from 13 days of SQL training and training camp, and oh my good golly gosh was that an experience. A whole bunch of crazy and exciting things happened and I’d love to share it all with you(and will share with all of you)! However, for my sanity and yours, I will not be including every little detail about training camp round 2 in this blog; if you’d like to know more than what I cover in this blog, you can always call/text/email me, or wait for another blog I will (eventually) post. So, instead of a novel, I will share with you a piece of news, a lesson, and a promise. Buckle up, cause here we go!
News:
I am squad leading C-squad! Other wise known as C4 (like the explosive) because we are fourth generation C squad, and more importantly, because of the passionate and ground shaking work we are going to do for the kingdom! On the Adventures website, we are also known as January route 3 if you want to go on the site and see the specific countries we are heading to! Lets just say I am looking forward to spending a lot of time in Latin America! … I guess it’s time to actually learn some spanish!
I have the honor of sharing this squad leader journey with 3 other co-leaders, a mentor, and 2 coaches; all lovely and amazing in their own right! Please keep our squad and leadership team in your prayers! Specifically that all of us really press into community and into what God is teaching us in this next season of life!
Lesson:
Fact: I am in a position of leadership.
Even more of a fact: That doesn’t mean I am here to get glory, be a superhero, solve every problem, have answers, etc.
A delusion many people in leadership have, and one I was beginning to struggle with as well, was that I needed to fix others problems by myself and then I would be rewarded with recognition… But I am super glad that lie was smacked out of my head before it was able to fully take hold.
A number of things showed me humility in leadership at training camp, but I know that my training team had a HUGE part in it. Their example, their leadership styles, just those wonderful people in general, really modeled the kind of servant leader that I want to be in these upcoming months! I don’t need a cape, I don’t need thumbs-up, or pats on the back; all I need is the close relationship with the Lord that will guarantee that my actions are a direct result of His will in this life. I am not in leadership to be praised. I am not in the position of squad leader to be looked at as a hero. I am not going back on to the missions field to “show new racers how it’s done”. I am going because I am following a call. God said “go”, so I go, no other reason or motive needed.
And in all honesty, God doesn’t need to use me to do anything. He can do everything and anything Himself. I am blessed and privileged to be a part of His plan.
Promise:
I’ve got stories for days about my race, and being at training camp reveled some ways that God worked in me over the race, some stories that came full circle, and just some really cool reminders that His hand was constantly there in all of it!
I have also gotten feedback from friends and family that they want to know more about my race, about how God has moved, and about why I feel called to go on the missions field again.
So here is the deal: I launch the first week in January, and in the 2 months between then and now I promise that I will release a series of blogs telling stories from my race, happy stories, deep stories, redemptive stories, unbelievable stories, everything and anything I want to share, you’ll get it! So I hope you are ready for some new reading material in these next few weeks!
Thanks for keeping up with me! For your prayers! And for your support! I love blog comments, emails, Facebook messages, and you guys in general!!! So please stay in touch, consider following me on my squad leading journey, and keep praying bold prays for my new squad: C4!
Love well,
Molly Fae
