Hello Friends and Family!

I am not really that excellent with social media. I get caught up doing other things, and I forget about the whole other network of people that can be reached over the internet!

But hello! I was taking a break at work when I read a post by my pastor and I felt like it was speaking directly to how I am feeling about the World Race.

Blind Obedience

Sometimes God sends us places and requires us to do things which demand that we blindly obey. In John chapter 9 Jesus encounters a man blind from birth. In order to perform the miracle, He first spits in the dirt, makes mud, places the mud on the man’s eyes and tells him he must go wash in the pool of Siloam before he could have his vision granted. The problem was that he had to go to the place of his sending (Siloam means “sent”) not being able to see where he was going.

Because he blindly obeyed though, he received the miracle he desperately needed. He not only came back seeing, but he came back “seeing” why it was important to go.

When God tells us to do something, He rarely gives us all the reasons why we should do it. However, if we obey even when we don’t understand the why, then we will return not only with the fruit of our obedience, but also seeing why it was important to obey. Live right, live well…”

Right now I have a good job, family and friends who live close by, a church family that I ADORE! And yet, God is calling me away from the known to the unknown. The peace in the decision is not always there, but the confidence in God’s plan for me is. I know that it is steps like this that God uses to grow me. And I would rather be challenged in this way, then to go on life living in a comfortable static state.

As my pastor says…

Live right, live well…
