Today I ask for an $11 donation. The $11 dollars could be that burger you’ll have for lunch or a couple of Starbucks drinks or 2 beers on Friday night. Will the $11 make or break your bank, I doubt it but it will make or break mine.
That $11 will pay for my bus ticket from Honduras to Guatemala where I will love orphans for the month. That $11 will buy the pot of coffee I will share with women who have been trafficked in Columbia. That $11 will feed and nourish me for 3 days in Nicaragua where I will play, love and pray for the families who survive in dumps.
So while yes $11 is significant anywhere here it means even more. $11 is just $1 for each of the countries I will travel to. $1 to you is the water from Wawa. $1 in Peru is fruit I will share with my teammates while we await reunions with family members. $1 to me in Ecuador will pay for my bus ride to church to share Gods word. So I humbly come to you and ask for $11 dollars.
Now for my favorite go-getters who want to donate even more today I offer some fun. Since you will partner with me on this journey shouldn’t you have some sort of benefit. So today I offer just that!
For the month of September (PERK MONTH) if you donate
$30 or more you will receive a postcard from the country of your choice
$50 or more a framed picture in the country of your choice when I return home
$75 or more a pound of coffee from country of your choice
$100 or more whatever you want from anywhere. Ok within reason but seriously let me know what your thinking and we can work something out
