Fun things I’ve experienced in the Dominican
We are staying with a pastor and his wife and their precious little baby girl.

There is an orchestra of horns, crowing roosters, LOUD music, and barking dogs that stream in through the windows of where we sleep.
The electricity regularly goes out and it is expected.
To date I have bathe in a river….twice. Whether you bathe here or in a shower, the water is always freezing!!!
I regularly hear the words….America, gringo, rubia, bonita, etc….when walking with my team
Everyone rides on these motor bikes all over the country and while stop lights exist in some places, they are more like suggestions for drivers.
There are no speed limit signs.
There are cows, goats, horses, dogs, sheep, etc everywhere and their poop is also everywhere.
Rice and beans…yep.
Coffee looks more like sugar with some coffee on the side.
Everyone is welcomed into anyone’s home but you are also always expected to share your food with whoever stops by.
The quickest way to offend a Dominican is to not greet them.
It’s a beautiful place.
Yep that’s all I have for your now. It hasn’t even been a week! 🙂
Meet my team!

(From Left to right: Robert, Sarah, Hannah (our team leader), Anthony, Kevin (our finance dude), Kelsi, and Me of course! In front is Ronnie and Patria his wife, they have been our awesome translators! We LOVE them!)
