This month I am working in Canglun, Malaysia, a small town just across the border from Thailand. We are partnering with a pastor who recently moved here from India with his family to minister to the community here. In Malaysia, you are not free to talk about Jesus or the gospel to Muslims, so we have to be very careful how we present ourselves. Because of these restrictions, Pastor Thomas has found different ways to build relationships with people by simply living and showing Christ's love in action. Their biggest project is a Kindergarten that they have started and have around 50 students from ages 3-6. The school is the only one around that is not classified as being for 'Muslim' students or another specified people group. It is very multicultural, we have students from India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Iraq, etc.  The curriculum is all in English and the children are also learning Chinese. They are very limited in their supplies and funding, as the Pastor and his family are not receiving any financial support from organizations or churches. They have asked me to be the official photographer for the school this month, and to put together a yearbook to give to the parents. I am so excited to do this because it is all of my passions combined! Children, missions, photography, other cultures, and teaching! I have also volunteered to plan a Mother's Day craft for all of the students to do to give to their mothers this weekend. BUT, I have no money! I have been hesitant to ask for more support money so far, because all of my funding for The World Race came in so quickly and I was so humbled and blessed that I chose to stop asking for money once I got 'fully funded'. Unfortunately the money that I raised does not cover anything extra that I want to do for the ministries that we are working with in each country. It only covers all of my travel, lodging, and basic food. If you would like to contribute to this ministry, I would love to be able to bless them in any way that I can. The projects are endless, and I obviously can't do it all…but I would love to be able to make this yearbook, do craft projects, and maybe buy some basic supplies for the teachers.
