This week at Training Camp has been amazing!  Though I am not allowed to tell you everything that happened, I would love to tell you my first ministry story from the field.  Yesterday, we were put into teams.  I have been blessed to be on an all girls team with some amazing women.  They have already started ministering to my heart and speaking words of life and love into me.  I truly cannot wait to see what these amazing women of God are going to do throughout the world!

After we were put into teams, we were released to get cleaned up and go into town for time to get to know our new family, eat dinner, and make a memory.  Not just any memory mind you, but a Godly memory.  As a team, we decided to go to a nearby hospital.  We divided up and went into rooms to see if anyone would like a short visit and some prayer.  Me and Katie H. were able to go into a room with a man who tried to commit suicide.  He had been in the hospital for two months from complications and now had bed sores on his back.  He looked to be in his 30s or 40s, and though he allowed us to come into his room and pray with him, he wasn't overly responsive.  We learned that he was a mechanic and had lived in Georgia his whole life.  His father and grandfather had both been mechanics, so it came quite naturally to him.  He told us that he had went to church as a kid and believed Jesus was real, but still seemed quite distant with us.  I decided that I would trust to the Lord and just started praying.  We thanked God for his life and for loving him and for know where he was right in that moment.  We asked that God would send him friends and people to care about him and surround him with love and acceptance.  At the end of the prayer, I made sure I squeezed his hand enough to get his attention, gave him one of my big smiles, looked him straight in the eyes and reminded him how much God loved him.  I was able to speak some of the life and love that people had spoken to me throughout the week back to this man.

I may not have seen him break in that moment, but I am trusting the Lord that he let me water the seeds of the gospel that were planted in his heart from childhood, and that one day, his testimony will change thousands.  I would have some some things differently if given a second chance, I am so thankful for the opportunity to try and take these first faltering steps out into ministry.  Thank You God, thank you AIM/World Race, and thank you ladies for walking with me!

Now it's your turn.  God will lead and guide you into situation for a reason.  Slow down, take time to ask those around to give you their story and asked if they would let you pray for them.  People are hurting and just want someone to listen to and believe in them.  You have nothing to loose and you might just be saving a life.
